The newest designs

Here’s a few pictures of some or my most recent designs. The orange and green ones are updated versions of designs I made a few years ago. The purple flowers and the brown butterflies are also designs I’ve used before, just different colors. And then the tree one is my first ever attempt to make a tree. It’s kind of a funky tree, with only 9 leafs, but it’s beautiful at the same time!

A Necklace Collage

Here’s a picture of most of the necklace designs I have right now. A lot of them are shown below as well, I just thought they looked nice all together!

Dreaming of a White Christmas

I know it’s a little early, but I thought it would be fun to experiment with some Holiday designs!

My new Favorite

Every six months or so there’s one design that I fall in love with. I wear it without taking it off until it faces some kind of tragedy or until I make a new design that I like even more. This is my favorite one right now.

Earth Tones

Nice T-shirt! Can I borrow it?

DSC_0433I’m always looking for new designs I can make with polymer clay….. so when I saw a really cute design on my friends t-shirt I couldn’t resist from asking to borrow it. She did loan it to me that very same day, and here’s my attempt at making the cool design. It didn’t turn out exactly like the shirt but my friend seemed pretty impressed that I was able to make such a close copy of it.

Skinner Blend Background

This was one of my first attempts to use the skinner blend as the background of a cane design. I rolled the yellow-to-white skinner blend into a cube and then sliced it using a curvy blade and put the leaves and stems into it. Don’t know if that makes sense or not, but I’d be happy to explain in more detail if anyone is interested.

Black & White

Who knew that you could make so many different designs with just two colors?

Simple but so Cool

These designs don’t take a lot of thought of planning, but they always turn out great!

Flower Power

I love flowers; especially white, yellow and orange flowers. I try to branch out and make other designs from time to time but I’m always drawn back to making flowers.

Skinner role spirals

Even though I hadn’t worked with polymer clay at all for about ten years, I still assumed people were using the same techniques they’d used when I first learned how to use it. I actually didn’t even think it was necessary for me to buy any new books. I was so wrong! Polymer clay art really advanced while I was busy with life. One of the new techniques I’m so thankful for is the skinner blend ( I used it in the spirals above and use it in almost every design I make now.

My Favorite Magnets

The butterfly sits on top of the colorful pattern, so it’s more 3D than the other designs I usually make. Much easier than making it one dimensional but still a favorite of most everyone.

Sea Shell?

I saw a beautiful seashell and tried to duplicate the design. I doesn’t look like the seashell I saw but it’s still one of my favorites.

Simple Bracelets

When I have left over cane designs I turn them into bracelets. I have a design for every occasion!

Caribbean Mountains #3

This design took me over thirty hours to put together, and make over fifty pieces of jewelry. It’s still one of my favorites!

Caribbean Mountains #2

My First Intricate Design

I first learned how to make polymer clay cane designs when I was in high school thanks to my ceramics teacher. I got busy with life and forgot about clay all together for about ten years until I accidently ended up with 30 colorful squares of clay. Inspired by the scenery around me in the Dominican Republic I attempted to make a Caribbean mountain scene. At first I only made magnets but after a lot of trial and error I figured out how to make my lovely design into jewelry.
